For the first time in men's golf history, twin brothers have both ranked within the top 100 in the world rankings. In the weekly official golf world rankings announced on the afternoon of the 6th (Korean time), Rasmus ranked 96th and Nikolai 99th. They are identical twins born in 2001. Rasmus broke into the 'Top 100' barrier first in August last year, and Nikolai entered the top 100 for the first time this time. The Højgaard brothers are 'young guns' who each secured one win on the European Tour this year.
Rasmus won the Omega European Masters held in Switzerland in the last week of August, and Nikolai topped the Italian Open held at Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome, Italy, the following week. This was also the first time in European Tour history that brothers won consecutively for two weeks. Rasmus also represented Denmark at the Tokyo Olympics this year. He achieved his first career win on the European Tour in December 2019.
