40s Arrested on the Spot for Ramming Car After Drunk Driving Report
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 40s was arrested by the police for hitting another driver with his car after blocking his way while driving under the influence.
The Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced on the 6th that they arrested Mr. A (43) on the spot on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act for drunk driving and special assault.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of driving under the influence around 10:40 PM the previous day on Nambusunhwan-ro in Yangcheon-gu, and when the victim, Mr. B, who was following behind, reported and blocked his way, Mr. A hit Mr. B twice with his car, assaulting him.
Mr. B reportedly honked his horn because Mr. A was driving dangerously, and Mr. A, displeased by this, stopped his car at a red light and threatened Mr. B by hitting his vehicle with his hand.
When Mr. A returned to his car, Mr. B got out and blocked the front of Mr. A’s vehicle, and Mr. A pushed Mr. B with his car, telling him to move.
The police who arrived at the scene after Mr. B’s report conducted a breathalyzer test on Mr. A, and it was revealed that Mr. A’s blood alcohol concentration was at the license cancellation level.
