Mujugun, 'Farm Income UP!' Through Support for Rural Convergence Industry Development

[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju County announced on the 6th that it aims to enhance the competitiveness of agriculture and revitalize the local economy through support for rural convergence industry development.

According to the county, the 2022 rural convergence industry support project will be promoted through a demand-oriented small-scale 6th industry support project and a village management entity competitiveness enhancement project.

Accordingly, Muju County secured a total budget of 400 million KRW after being selected for the Jeollabuk-do 2022 demand-oriented small-scale 6th industry support project. The county plans to provide 200 million KRW each to two selected companies.

This project focuses on supporting the lacking areas for rural convergence industry (6th industry) certified companies that use local agricultural and livestock products as main raw materials to connect the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. The goal is to improve the competitiveness of certified companies and increase farm household income.

Additionally, the village management entity competitiveness enhancement project aims to resolve on-site difficulties faced by rural convergence industry certified companies and village product manufacturers, and to establish a stable business foundation, with 10 million KRW provided per location.

Muju County plans to select five companies with growth potential in January next year and actively support the creation of new added value linked to agriculture.
