Jeonju City Secures 1.7287 Trillion Won in National Budget
This Year’s Budget Exceeds 1.6072 Trillion Won by 121.5 Billion Won... Securing Numerous Funds for Future New Industries
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 6th that it secured 1.7287 trillion won in national budget for next year, an increase of 121.5 billion won (8%) from this year's 1.6072 trillion won.
The scale of next year's national budget by sector is △ Industry and economy sector: 104 projects, 620 billion won △ Environment and urban sector: 68 projects, 466.7 billion won △ Culture and tourism sector: 30 projects, 66.7 billion won △ Welfare and social safety net sector: 92 projects, 575.3 billion won.
Among these, new growth engines include △ 26 projects (35.5 billion won) in the industry and economy sector such as the establishment of Korean-style film sound effect source Sounddam △ 16 projects (27.5 billion won) in the environment and urban sector such as remodeling of Jeonju Baseball Stadium △ 7 projects (1.7 billion won) in the culture and tourism sector such as traditional hanji production facility hanji utilization learning experience programs △ 16 projects (10.3 billion won) in the welfare and social safety net sector such as installation of hub-type regional gender equality centers.
Jeonju Mayor Kim Seung-su said, “Jeonju city officials, Jeonbuk Province, and local political circles united in one heart and made efforts to secure the national budget that will raise the lives of Jeonju citizens to the next level and lead Jeonju's development,” adding, “We will do our best to make Jeonju a global cultural tourism city, a world-class ecological environment city, an economic industrial city, and the most humane city.”
