The awards for outstanding volunteers were given in four categories: ▲Mayor’s Commendation (21 people) ▲Certificate of Excellence in Volunteer Performance (4 people) ▲Korea Volunteer Center Association President’s Commendation (3 people) ▲Seoul Metropolitan Mayor’s Commendation (1 person), totaling 29 recipients.
The Volunteer Center invited the popera duo ‘Ddu Ddu Ppa Ppa’ for a congratulatory performance and distributed souvenirs to attendees. For volunteers unable to attend due to COVID-19 quarantine rules, an online quiz was prepared on the center’s website. The first 50 correct respondents will receive a cultural gift certificate worth 20,000 KRW.
Mayor Seong Jang-hyun of Yongsan-gu said, “Even in these difficult times, I bow my head in gratitude when I see volunteers stepping forward for their neighbors,” and added, “We will develop various measures to enable anyone to participate in volunteering in a safe environment.”
