[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that "with a population of about 140,000, Pocheon's per capita Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) ranked 7th in Gyeonggi Province and 1st among the 10 cities and counties in northern Gyeonggi."
According to Pocheon City, the total GRDP of Pocheon in 2019, as announced by Gyeonggi Province last month, was 6.8723 trillion KRW, and the per capita GRDP was 46.98 million KRW.
'Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP)' is a figure that measures the added value of production in a region based on basic statistics such as production amount and prices, and is used as a representative comprehensive economic indicator to gauge the size of the regional economy.
Pocheon's GRDP has shown a continuous upward trend, which the city analyzed as a result of the foundation for regional economic revitalization through transportation infrastructure development, industrial complex establishment, corporate attraction, and customized corporate support.
Mayor Park Yoon-guk of Pocheon said, "We will strive to increase the income of Pocheon citizens along with regional development by promoting future new growth engine projects with the goal of becoming a 'self-sufficient city Pocheon' equipped with all functions, not just a bedroom town that only increases population."
