On the 1st, Kim Gu-nyeon, Chief Judge of Criminal Division 2 at Changwon District Court, announced that stepmother A (44) and biological father B (46), who were tried for child abuse, were each sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year suspension and fined 1 million won.
On December 15 of last year, at their home in Gyeongnam, A became angry over incorrect spacing in a reading report and struck the child's head several times with a broom that was nearby, causing injuries including a concussion with a recovery period of three weeks.
