Orion Replaces CEOs of Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese Subsidiaries... Accelerating Product-Centered Performance
Regular Executive Personnel Appointment for 2022 Implemented
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Orion Group announced on the 1st that it has carried out its regular executive appointments for 2022, including replacing the CEOs of its Korea, China, and Vietnam subsidiaries.
Orion Group stated, "This personnel change is aimed at proactively responding to rapidly changing market conditions and consumer demands, and strengthening our capabilities as a global comprehensive food company," adding, "To continuously generate product-centered performance, we have newly appointed CEOs of the Korea, China, and Vietnam subsidiaries who are R&D experts and capable of executing localization strategies."
For the Korea subsidiary, President Lee Seung-jun (pictured) will serve as CEO and head of the Global Research Institute. Lee, who joined Orion in 1989, is a domestic food development expert who has served as head of the product development team and head of R&D for the China subsidiary, and has been leading the Global Research Institute since last year. He is the person behind hit products such as 'Kkobuk Chip', 'Dr. You Protein Bar', and 'Market O Nature Oh! Granola'.
The China subsidiary promoted Executive Director Kim Jae-shin to Vice President and newly appointed him as CEO. Kim, who joined Orion in 1990, has contributed to global business growth through extensive experience in production and R&D at overseas subsidiaries. After serving as the plant manager of the Langfang factory in China, he moved to the Vietnam subsidiary, where he served as head of the research institute and has been CEO since last year. He led the high growth of the Vietnam subsidiary by not only strengthening the competitiveness of existing products but also developing and making hits of new category products such as rice snack 'An' and mass-produced bread 'Ssebbong'.
The Vietnam subsidiary newly appointed Executive Director Park Se-yeol as CEO. Since joining in 2000, Park has promoted localization system strengthening strategies by serving as head of management support for the Korea subsidiary and head of support headquarters for the China subsidiary. Additionally, to further accelerate new bio-business, Orion Holdings and China’s 'Shandong Lukang Pharmaceutical' joint venture 'Lukang Haoliyou' promoted CEO Baek Yong-woon to Managing Director.
Furthermore, the China subsidiary has strengthened its localization system by promoting local employees such as Guo Hongbo, head of sales headquarters; Chen Lihua, plant manager of the Shanghai factory; Kim Young-sil, packaging plant manager; and Jing Bei, marketing team leader, to headquarters and team leader positions to provide products and services desired by customers in a timely manner.
An Orion official said, "Through the appointment of R&D expert CEOs and strengthening of the localization system, we have further solidified the foundation for sustainable growth as a global comprehensive food company."
