Chosun University Hospital Sunflower Center, 8th Volunteer Group Closing Ceremony Held

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Sunflower Center at Chosun University Hospital (Director Jeong Jonghoon, Director of Chosun University Hospital) held the closing ceremony for the 8th volunteer group of the "Ye-Ji-Mo (Prevention and Protection Meeting)" related to the "Sexual Violence Prevention Education Project for Children and Adolescents" on the 29th at the 5th floor small seminar room of Uiseong Hall, the center announced on the 30th.
The closing ceremony was attended by Jeong Jonghoon, Director of Chosun University Hospital, as well as officials from Chosun University, Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, and Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency. They reported the results of the 8th project in 2021 and held an award ceremony for 23 students from the Department of Counseling Psychology at Chosun University.
The Ye-Ji-Mo volunteer group activities, which began in 2013, have been conducted this year at a total of 237 elementary schools, 185 local children’s centers, and childcare facilities, reaching a total of 21,596 elementary school students. Various educational programs are operated to establish correct sexual awareness among children and to prevent sexual violence.
Director Jeong Jonghoon encouraged, “Through close cooperation with related organizations such as the collaboration between the Chosun University Hospital Sunflower Center and Chosun University students, as well as support from the Gwangju Police Agency and Gwangju Office of Education, let us continue to work together to protect and prevent children from crimes such as sexual violence.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Sunflower Center at Chosun University Hospital, which opened in 2006, provides integrated support to socially vulnerable groups by offering 24-hour counseling, investigation, legal, and medical services through female police officers and counselors to help victims of women, family, and school violence comfortably and promptly.
