Hyundai Department Store Selected as Industry's First Company Recognized under 'Community Contribution Recognition System'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 30th that it has been selected as a recognized company under the '2021 Community Contribution Recognition System,' the first in the department store industry.
The 'Community Contribution Recognition System' is a program jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare to discover companies and institutions that form partnerships with local communities and non-profit organizations and carry out continuous social contribution activities. The evaluation criteria consist of a total of 25 detailed assessment indicators across seven areas: ▲Environmental Management ▲Social Contribution Promotion System ▲Recognition of Social Contribution Issues ▲Social Contribution Programs ▲Social Contribution Networks ▲Social Contribution Performance Impact ▲Ethical Management, with each area comprising 2 to 5 indicators.
Hyundai Department Store received excellent evaluations in areas such as environmental management and social contribution programs, achieving a high rating of level 4 (diffusion) or above out of levels 1 to 5 across all indicators.
Hyundai Department Store uniquely operates the '365 Recycle Campaign,' which continuously accepts donations of resalable clothing and accessories from customers. It also continuously conducts ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) related activities through cooperation with social welfare institutions and organizations, including support for hearing-impaired children, sponsorship of education at local children's centers, and urban youth local coexistence employment projects.
