A ceremony was held on the 29th at KOSHA. This is the first time a public institution has simultaneously obtained both the Anti-Bribery Management System and Compliance Management System certifications. Both certifications are international standards recognized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The certification evaluates whether systems for anti-corruption, compliance-related organizational structure, resource management, risk prevention, and performance evaluation have been established.
KOSHA formed a TFT to analyze risks across the entire organization, improve processes, acquire management techniques, and conduct training to organize the management system.
The agency analyzed 459 tasks in areas such as industrial accident prevention projects and employee recruitment that could potentially induce corruption or violate obligations.
After analysis, 256 corruption risks and 245 compliance risks were identified, and improvement measures were prepared for 140 high-risk items.
KOSHA trained internal auditors through specialized education to autonomously identify corruption and compliance risks within the agency’s processes. Subsequently, a system was established to address any deficiencies.
The certification was conducted by the Korea Management Certification Institute through document review and on-site audits.
The Anti-Bribery Management System audit covered matters related to preventing corruption, bribery, and improper solicitation required by the organization.
The Compliance Management System audit examined the organization’s compliance obligations regarding regulations, norms, and codes of ethics.
