Polaris Office Accelerates Platform-Based Business... Launches OTT and Commerce Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Polaris Office, a company specializing in office software, is expanding its platform-based business by starting to provide OTT (over-the-top) video content and commerce services.
On the 29th, Polaris Office announced the launch of its own OTT service within the ‘Polaris Office’ platform called OmanTV (Office Mandulda Mandeun TV) and a user-exclusive shopping mall called Oman Market (Office Mandulda Mandeun Sijang).
OmanTV offers various video content including news from DeepDive, an AI-based video business platform operated by Zoom Internet, the operator of Zoom.com, Korea’s third-largest portal and content platform. As an AVOD (Advertising Video On Demand) service, it initially provides news and YouTube-centered content, with plans to expand into entertainment, variety shows, and educational content in the future.
Oman Market is a closed mall exclusively for ‘Polaris Office’ users. Various special-priced products provided by FastView, a content commerce specialist company, are continuously updated, and different discount rates and point accumulation rates are offered according to the subscription tier of ‘Polaris Office.’ To commemorate the launch, until December 13, a 30% discount on ‘Polaris Office’ subscription products is available, followed by limited-time online lowest-price sales of various products such as the Logitech MX Master 3, Samsung laptops and Galaxy Book PRO, air purifiers, and Apple Watch.
Currently, OmanTV is available on the Windows version of ‘Polaris Office’ and the latest Android version, while Oman Market is accessible on the latest Android version. The company plans to gradually increase the supported operating systems.
A Polaris Office representative said, “The OTT and commerce businesses are the first step for Polaris Office to establish a new growth foundation based on its own platform,” adding, “We will continuously provide various video content and products to offer differentiated benefits to ‘Polaris Office’ subscription users and will gradually expand services by country in the future.”
