Education Environment Improvement Parents' Association Holds 100-Person Roundtable Discussion
On the 26th, participants including students and parents engaged in a heated discussion at the 100-Person Roundtable on Improving the Educational Environment held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Council.

The Parents' Coalition for Educational Environment Improvement (President Jeong Cheon-geun) held the 7th "We Can Speak Up for Educational Environment Improvement" 100-person roundtable discussion on the 26th at the first-floor conference room of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, sponsored by the Gyeonggi Provincial Council Education Administration Committee and The Joeun Education Cooperative.
Attendees included students and parent association presidents from Suwon City, school operation committees, the Parents' Police Coalition, Green Mothers' Association, current teachers, and other education stakeholders. Panelists included Seong Gi-seon, former president of the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, Park Ok-bun, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council Education Administration Committee, Kim I-du, head of facilities at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, and Kim Seon-hee, head of special education.
After 30 minutes of roundtable discussions in groups, nine group presenters conveyed the voices from the educational field to the panelists. Jang Ji-eun, a student at Samil Commercial High School, said, "I hope students' opinions are reflected in facility improvement projects, and satisfaction evaluations are conducted after improvements." Park Mi-seon, president of the Homaesil Middle School Parent Association, suggested, "In prioritizing the renovation and repair of aging restrooms, I hope improvements are made so that minority students, such as those with mobility difficulties, can use restrooms in a comfortable environment."

Additionally, various opinions were exchanged on improving the educational environment, including establishing communication channels for immigrants, expanding student self-governance activities, and more actively reflecting students' opinions in school operations. The panelists expressed empathy for the passion of students and parents and pledged to work toward resolving the discussed issues. Jeong Cheon-geun, president of the Parents' Coalition for Educational Environment Improvement, said, "I thank everyone who attended," and added, "I hope we all work together not just for our own children but for all children."
