Government Appoints Na Heeseung, Former Head of Korea Railroad Research Institute, as New CEO of Korea Railroad Corporation
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The government has appointed Na Hee-seung (55), former head of the Korea Railroad Research Institute, as the new president of Korea Railroad.
It is reported that Na Hee-seung was recommended to the Blue House along with Jeong Wang-guk, vice president of Korea Railroad (currently acting president), and was finally selected.
Na Hee-seung is expected to take office as early as the 26th.
Born in Gwangju, Na graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in Mechanical Design and earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST.

Na joined the Korea Railroad Research Institute in 1997 and has served as head of the Inter-Korean Railroad Project Group and director of the Continental Railroad Research Office. He currently serves as a standing member of the Economic Committee of the National Unification Advisory Council.
