Gyeonggi-do Expands Postpartum Care Cost Support Application to 'Online'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has expanded the application process for the postpartum care cost support program to online.
Gyeonggi Province announced that starting from the 24th, the application method for the postpartum care cost support program, which provides 500,000 KRW in local currency to households with infants under 12 months old, has been expanded from offline to online.
An official from the province stated, "In response to residents' requests for improved convenience in the application process, we have expanded the reception to include online applications," adding, "We will continue the postpartum care cost support program to alleviate the financial burden on families with newborns, protect the health of mothers and infants, and overcome low birth rates."
Since 2019 until the end of September this year, the province has supported postpartum care costs for approximately 206,300 households.

Meanwhile, a survey conducted by Gyeonggi Province at the end of last year targeting 1,005 users of the postpartum care cost support program showed a satisfaction rate of 68%. Specifically, satisfaction was high in areas such as ▲helpfulness of eligibility (89%) ▲sufficiency of application period (88%) ▲appropriateness of program targets (81%). However, convenience of the application method, including in-person submissions, was only rated at 40%.
