[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, conducted the 'Fun Family Table' program for marriage immigrants over two days, from the 22nd to the 23rd.
This training was organized to support stable settlement in Korea by improving marriage immigrants' accessibility to Korean food and resolving cultural differences in eating habits.
On the 22nd, participants learned recipes for 'Side Dishes Made by My Own Hands' such as burdock pepper stir-fry, zucchini shrimp paste stir-fry, and fish cake pod stir-fry. On the 23rd, they were taught how to make 'Home-cooked Meals Made by My Own Hands' including spicy stir-fried squid and pork (Osam Bulgogi) and seasoned cockle vegetable salad, helping multicultural families adapt to the Korean diet.
A marriage immigrant who participated in the program said, "Korean cooking, which I had only found difficult, became fun and enjoyable as I cooked together with the instructor," and added, "Tonight, I will try making Osam Bulgogi for my family."
