Visit to Samsung's Future Innovation Forward Base
Urging Bold Change and Challenge
According to business circles and Samsung Electronics on the 23rd, Vice Chairman Lee visited the semiconductor and set research centers in Silicon Valley, California?DS America (DSA) and Samsung Research America (SRA)?on the 21st and 22nd (local time) to check the development status of next-generation core technologies such as AI and 6G and to encourage researchers. At the meeting, he urged, "We cannot overcome this massive transformation period by merely 'widening the gap' with companies chasing or following us. It will be difficult and painful, but let's make the impossible possible."
DSA and SRA are advanced research organizations of Samsung Electronics' DS Division and Set (IM·CE) Division, respectively, leading innovation and serving as forward bases for discovering 'future growth engines.' Vice Chairman Lee reportedly told the researchers, "As the map of the future world and industry is being newly drawn, our survival environment is dramatically changing," and urged them to "accelerate innovation efforts." This is interpreted as emphasizing the will for the 'New Samsung,' meaning to go beyond the 'super-gap' strategy that brought Samsung to the global stage and to be reborn as a company pioneering a future no one has gone before.
