According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 23rd, a report was received on the 22nd at 7:57 PM that Mr. A (in his 60s), who was trying to leave after fishing at Mireukdo, Jangsan-myeon, Sinan-gun, was stranded on the mudflat.
The Coast Guard dispatched patrol vessels, the local police station rescue team, and the West Sea Special Rescue Unit to the scene. Rescue personnel quickly used a rescue board to safely rescue the stranded individual.
The rescued Mr. A complained of back pain and hypothermia but was not in life-threatening condition and is currently being transferred to a hospital in Mokpo for treatment.

A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, “There were many difficulties in the rescue due to poor visibility at night and worsening weather conditions such as strong winds, but we were able to rescue the stranded person through prompt response,” and urged, “Before engaging in fishing activities along the coast or rocky shores, be sure to check local weather and tide conditions in advance.”
