At the competition held for 36 firefighting auxiliary personnel from 18 teams, paramedics Lee Geonseok and Park Juho from Yeongam Fire Station were honored with the grand prize.
The event was conducted non-face-to-face using a video conferencing program in accordance with the COVID-19 situation.
This competition was held to systematically train firefighting auxiliary personnel to strengthen their on-site response capabilities as assistants in various disaster scenes, to cultivate the spirit of respecting life, and to improve safety culture.
A paramedic who participated in the competition said, "This competition was very beneficial as it provided an opportunity to learn and practice CPR more deeply," adding, "After discharge, if an emergency occurs in general society, I will save precious lives through the CPR skills I acquired while preparing for the competition."

Chief Ma Jaeyoon of the Fire Headquarters stated, "Last year, our resuscitation rate for cardiac arrest patients was 9.7%, and it has been increasing every year. We will do our best to achieve this year's goal of 10%," and added, "I hope all firefighting auxiliary personnel will also participate in spreading CPR, a beautiful and great act of saving human lives."
