[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Kia unveiled teaser images of the new dedicated eco-friendly sports utility vehicle (SUV) model, the new Niro, on the 22nd.
The new Niro is the second-generation model released five years after the first generation launched in January 2016. According to the company, it is a vehicle embodying Kia's vision for 'sustainable mobility.'
The new Niro applies Kia's new design philosophy, 'Opposites United,' and one of its attributes, 'Joy for Reason.' It inherits the futuristic image of the electric vehicle (EV) concept car 'HabaNiro,' unveiled in 2019, highlighting individuality with a simple yet high-tech body and strong, detailed features.
The interior features a distinctive layout of the dashboard and door trims combining horizontal and diagonal shapes. Additionally, Kia plans to offer a differentiated experience to customers by applying various eco-friendly materials and new colors to the new Niro.
