Squid Game Hits Big... Netflix Korea Monthly Users Near 10 Million
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] The global online video service (OTT) Netflix, which succeeded in popularity with 'Ojingeo Game', has nearly 10 million monthly users in Korea.
According to market research firm Nielsen Korean Click on the 21st, Netflix's monthly active users (MAU) in September reached 9.48 million, a 9.8% increase compared to the previous month. This is the highest record since the domestic service launch according to Nielsen Korean Click. The previous highest was 8.99 million in January. After a decline, it rebounded due to the successive content hits such as 'D.P' and 'Ojingeo Game'.
The October MAU figures have not yet been released. However, considering the continued popularity after the release of 'Ojingeo Game' in September, reaching 10 million users is highly likely. Nielsen Korean Click stated, "As a service used by about 10 million people, Netflix's position has become even more solidified."
