Geumcheon-gu Recruits 295 Participants for Public Job Program in First Half of 2022
November 22-30: Recruiting 295 People for 83 Projects... Working in Public Administration and Regional Quarantine from January 10 to June 30, 2022
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting a total of 295 participants for the first half of 2022 Seoul Citizen Safe Job Project and the Local Quarantine Job Project from November 22 to 30.
This project is promoted to provide direct jobs to the unemployed and vulnerable employment groups to support their livelihood and help them become self-reliant.
The number of recruits is 235 for the Seoul Citizen Safe Job Project and 60 for the Local Quarantine Job Project. The final selected participants will take part in 83 projects including Clean Happy Call, park maintenance, Anyangcheon riverside maintenance, and community center quarantine.
Eligibility requirements are Geumcheon-gu residents aged 18 or older as of the project start date (January 10, 2022), who are unemployed or daily workers without regular income, and whose combined assets of the applicant, spouse, and family do not exceed 300 million KRW.

Residents wishing to participate can apply by visiting their local community service center with identification, application form, and consent form for personal information collection and use from November 22 to 30. However, recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act, unemployment benefit recipients, and households with income exceeding 70% of the median income are not eligible to participate.
Geumcheon-gu will review applicants’ assets, income, number of public job participations, and exclusion criteria, and announce the results on January 6, 2022, in the ‘Geumcheon News’ section of the Geumcheon-gu Office website. Final successful candidates will be notified individually by the project department.
The final successful candidates will work at various locations such as Geumcheon-gu Office, community service centers, and libraries from January 10 to June 30, 2022. They will work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, with a daily wage of 51,000 KRW including snack allowance. However, participants aged 65 or older will work 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, receiving a daily wage of 33,000 KRW including snack allowance.
Additionally, participants will be mandatorily enrolled in the four major social insurances and will receive safety and labor education, sexual harassment prevention education, workplace bullying prevention education, and health checkups for safety and health management.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We plan to strengthen the employment capabilities of vulnerable groups by providing quality jobs to more residents along with employment counseling and vocational training,” adding, “We will continue to expand various jobs in the region to prepare for revitalizing the local economy, which has been stagnant in the With-Corona era.”
