Gwangju-Jeonnam Korea Housing Construction Association Donates 30 Million Won for Neighbor Care Fund
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea announced on the 19th that the Korea Housing Construction Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter (President Jeong Wonju) donated 30 million KRW to support neighbors in need of care.
The donation ceremony was attended by Jeong Wonju, President of the Korea Housing Construction Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Chapter, and Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
President Jeong is a member of the Honor Society, a group of high-value individual donors to the Community Chest of Korea (Gwangju’s 14th member), and is known for actively practicing sharing for the development of welfare in the Gwangju community.
He stated, “I hope Gwangju will become a warm city where no one is left behind,” and added, “I will do my best to help neighbors around me.”

Members qualify by pledging to donate 100 million KRW or more either as a lump sum or within five years, aiming to solve community problems and foster a mature donation culture to promote the development of the social community.
Since the first member joined in 2010 in the Gwangju area, a total of 125 members have been leading the culture of sharing in the region.
