On the 18th, a designation ceremony was held inviting the business owners of the respective establishments.
Gimhae Matjip was promoted to discover and nurture representative local foods in preparation for the 2024 National Sports Festival, to commercialize them as tourism products, and to revitalize the local economy based on this.
The selection of Matjip was conducted by the city through on-site evaluations and a review committee, based on individual applications or association recommendations from existing winners of the 'Gimhae Matjip Local Food Restaurant Contest' and exemplary restaurants.
At the designation ceremony held on the 18th, the city awarded designation certificates to the Matjip establishments and provided guidance and hygiene education to the business owners. In the future, benefits such as distribution of plaques, production of booklets, and promotion on the city hall website are planned.
