Goheung-gun Accelerates Final Preparations for Fisher Village New Deal 300 Public Contest Project
12 Districts, Income Generation through Revitalizing Fishing Village Tourism and Fishing Village Regeneration
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced that it is actively taking swift steps to ensure a substantial and successful acquisition ahead of the completion of the 2022 Fisheries New Deal 300 Project field evaluation by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the final selection of the public offering project.
The 'Fisheries New Deal 300 Project' is a community-based living SOC (social overhead capital) project that supports the innovative growth of fishing villages. It modernizes essential infrastructure such as outdated piers and undertakes integrated development projects for fishing villages and ports reflecting regional characteristics.
Compared to the 2022 public offering project, Goheung-gun conducted a demand survey last year for 12 fishing villages that applied, and held resident meetings from February 16 to March 11 this year. To ensure successful acquisition, local residents, local governments, and consulting firms are united in one mind and purpose, doing their best to spread new wings of hope for the future.
Goheung-gun stated, "If selected for this Fisheries New Deal 300 Project, the restoration of port functions and the creation of a fishing village environment will improve residential conditions, and the activation of fishing village tourism and regeneration will lead to new income generation, thereby improving fishermen's income."
