Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Publication Industry Promotion Agency Host 'Human and Technology Forum'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Publication Culture Industry Promotion Agency will hold the "Human and Technology Forum" at 2 p.m. on the 18th, under the theme "Technology for Solving Social Problems - Science and Technology to Improve Quality of Life and Solve Social Issues." The forum, moderated by Kim Seung-su, director of the Ddokddok Library, will discuss how science and technology address social problems and enhance citizens' lives.
The first session will cover public-private cooperation (governance) in science and technology policies aimed at solving social problems. Senior Research Fellow Sung Ji-eun from the Science and Technology Policy Institute will present on "Cases and Challenges of Public-Industry-Academia-Research-Government Cooperation for Science and Technology-Based Social Problem Solving." Lee Dong-wook, manager at BBB Korea, and Professor Heo Tae-wook from the Department of Public Administration at Gyeongsang National University will share their views on "Issues of Cooperation Actors More Important than Science and Technology."

The second session will focus on producers (makers) who use appropriate technology suited to their environment to directly solve and share problems. Yoo Hyo-seok, CEO of Creative Tone, will present on "The Spread and Sustainability of Appropriate Technology and Maker Activities," while Jeong Hae-won, CEO of Hands at the Village Technology Center, and Choi Hyuk-gyu, researcher at the Cultural and Social Research Institute, will discuss "The Sustainability of Voluntary Activities in the Civil Society Sector."
