View original image[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] A digital content production facility combining the country's first urban metaverse platform, integrating tourism and medical software industries, will be established in the innovation city of Wonju, Gangwon Province.
According to Gangwon Province and Wonju City on the 16th, the urban metaverse studio 'Redwoods Park' is a private digital content software promotion facility designated by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the first business authorized by Gangwon Province.
'Redwoods Park' will be built by Ppurigipeunnamudeul Co., Ltd. in Bango-dong, Wonju City’s innovation district, with 4 underground floors, 20 above-ground floors, and a total area of 77,148㎡.
It consists of a main studio measuring 65m wide, 35m long, and 18m high, along with auxiliary studios. It will also have ancillary facilities where companies specializing in CG, VFX, SFX video production and editing, as well as VR, AR, and IoT software technology, can reside and work.
Researchers from the German Essen-Duisburg National University, which first introduced synesthetic cognitive therapy, and Hanyang University will develop and present a metaverse synesthetic clinical therapy program in collaboration with leading next-generation companies.
On the 15th, coinciding with the groundbreaking ceremony of 'Redwoods Park,' Gangwon Province, Wonju City, and Ppurigipeunnamudeul Co., Ltd. signed a business agreement to invest in the local software industry and promote related industrial development.
Ppurigipeunnamudeul Co., Ltd. is a KONEX-listed venture company and a foreign-invested corporation funded by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation. It is also the production company behind SBS's
Recently, it established a sports marketing division, expanding its business into sports management and marketing.
Along with this project, the company plans to transfer its listing to KOSDAQ and relocate its headquarters to Gangwon Province. It is also recruiting famous writers to plan and develop several upcoming works.
Lee Jae-won, CEO of Ppurigipeunnamudeul Co., Ltd., said, "'Redwoods Park' will be the center for continuous investment in K-content production. We plan to expand the scope of the digital industry by combining the metaverse platform with content technology, including the development of synesthetic metaverse clinical therapy software for dementia prevention and treatment in the super-aged society."
