Coupang Q3 Sales Increase 48% to 5.478 Trillion Won...Net Loss of 382.1 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Coupang announced on the 12th that its sales in the third quarter of this year reached $4.6447 billion (approximately 5.4784 trillion KRW), a 48% increase compared to the same period last year.
Coupang's quarterly sales exceeded 5 trillion KRW again following the second quarter, marking the highest sales ever recorded.
The net loss was $323.97 million (approximately 382.1 billion KRW).
Coupang explained that during this period, due to the domestic spread of COVID-19 and strengthened regulations, it spent $95 million (approximately 112 billion KRW) on additional labor and operating costs.
The number of active customers who purchased at least once from Coupang in the third quarter was about 16.823 million, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.

The purchase amount per active customer (sales) was $276 (approximately 325,000 KRW), a 23% increase compared to the same period last year.
