Jin Air stated, "The system failure occurred due to a problem with the German server," and apologized, saying, "We sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience caused to our customers."
Due to the Jin Air passenger system failure on that day, ticketing and boarding procedures were delayed at airports nationwide, causing flight departures to be delayed and resulting in significant inconvenience for customers. Jin Air passengers left Jeju between 1 hour 30 minutes and 5 hours 50 minutes later than their originally scheduled departure times.
According to the Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Regional Headquarters, 30 Jin Air flights were scheduled to depart from Jeju to other regions by 6 p.m. that day, but only 17 flights had departed so far. It is expected that all 40 flights scheduled to depart from Jeju that day will be delayed.
