Kia Autoland Selected as '2021 The Best Good Workplace'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea announced on the 12th that Kia Autoland Gwangju Milal Volunteer Society was selected as the ‘2021 The Best Good Workplace’ for actively participating in the culture of sharing.
The plaque presentation ceremony held the day before was attended by Lee Seongdo, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea from Kia, Jang Gisul, President of the Gwangju Milal Volunteer Society, and Kim Changju, General Affairs Manager.
The Milal Volunteer Society, composed of employees of the Kia Autoland Gwangju plant, is a volunteer group formed in 2003 with 50 members.
Since its inception, it has promoted a campaign to donate 0.1% of salaries, using the collected donations to continuously carry out social contribution and volunteer activities.
The number of members, which was 50, exceeded 600 in just four years, and currently about 2,000 employees, accounting for one-third of the entire plant staff, have joined the volunteer society and actively participate in sharing and volunteering.
The Milal Volunteer Society joined the Good Workplace program in 2008, establishing a relationship with the Gwangju Fruit of Love. They have consistently practiced sharing every month and donated a total of approximately 1.17 billion KRW, including in-kind donations.
Meanwhile, the ‘Good Workplace’ is an employee participation sharing program where a certain amount is donated monthly from salaries. More than 1,500 companies, institutions, and organizations nationwide contribute to spreading the culture of sharing. Among them, those with more than three years of participation, over 50% employee membership, and annual donations exceeding 10 million KRW are selected as ‘The Best Good Workplace.’
