Asiana Airlines Signs Export Support Agreement with Trade Association for SMEs
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Asiana Airlines announced on the 10th that it signed a "Business Agreement for Cooperation to Support Air Transportation for SMEs during COVID-19" with the Korea International Trade Association at the Trade Tower in Samseong-dong.
The business agreement signed on this day aims to efficiently resolve the difficulties faced by export SMEs struggling with cargo transportation during the peak cargo season.
Asiana Airlines and the Korea International Trade Association agreed to mutually cooperate in supplying charter flights to support SME air transportation, establishing win-win measures for the air transportation and import-export industries, and discovering various new projects to support SME logistics. They also decided to share global import-export logistics trends and the challenges faced by SMEs to enhance the efficiency of support operations. Additional support measures are being reviewed to resolve cargo transportation difficulties experienced by Korean SMEs located in Vietnam.
The first cargo-only passenger flight under the agreement is scheduled to operate on the Incheon-Frankfurt route on the 23rd. In December, two flights will operate on the 7th and 21st.
Companies wishing to receive support for export SME air transportation can apply to the Korea International Trade Association, which will select the eligible companies. Selected companies will export cargo using the cargo-only passenger aircraft provided by Asiana Airlines.
Kim Kwang-seok, Vice President of Asiana Airlines, said, "We hope to be of some help to SMEs struggling with exports at the end of the year and New Year, and we will continue to look for more effective methods."
