[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] A special exhibition vividly conveying the history of the Japanese military 'comfort women' issue and the testimonies of the victims will be held.
On the 10th, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced that from today until December 31, a special exhibition titled "The Time and Space of Japanese Military Comfort Women Victims, and Their Testimonies" will be held at the Daegu Heeum Japanese Military 'Comfort Women' History Museum.
This exhibition is promoted as part of the Ministry's exhibition projects related to Japanese military comfort women victims, and it three-dimensionally represents the victims' lives and testimonies through the connection of time and space. Starting from the 20th, an online exhibition in three languages?Korean, English, and Japanese?will also be available to accommodate many viewers both domestically and internationally.
The exhibition is organized around the past, present, and future of the Japanese military comfort women victims. Various materials related to the comfort women issue, including historical documents, photographs, timelines, and victim testimonies realized through artificial intelligence (AI) technology, will be displayed.
In the past section, under the theme "Wall of History," the exhibition visualizes the historical events of Japanese military comfort women domestically and internationally, as well as the chronological flow of public and private activities, through video verification. In the "Wall of Testimonies" section, visitors can experience actual testimonies of the victims through photos and videos, including interviews with the late grandmother Moon Okju and previously unreleased victim testimonies.
In the present section, under the theme "Grandmother's Room," virtual reality (VR) technology introduces the spaces where the victims lived and objects imbued with their stories. In the future section, based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, immersive and interactive testimony content is created that allows conversations with surviving victims, sharing their lives and testimonies.
