According to the county on the 9th, a total of 10 call taxis for transportation-vulnerable people are in operation, including 2 additional vehicles added this year. To eliminate dispatch gaps during weekends and early morning hours (midnight to 7 a.m.), 5 additional drivers have been assigned, making a total of 15 designated drivers.
Previously, the service was only available by reservation calls, but now it can also be used in adjacent areas such as Mokpo, Yeongam, Hampyeong, and Sinan, resulting in a threefold increase in out-of-county trips compared to the previous month, indicating increased utilization of the call taxi service for transportation-vulnerable people.
Furthermore, the call taxis operate 24 hours a day and are equipped with facilities to accommodate disabled passengers with physical difficulties, leading to high satisfaction among users.
A village resident who used the call taxi said, "It is very convenient to be able to use the call taxi anytime without time restrictions," and added, "I am grateful for the consideration given to transportation-vulnerable people and hope that transportation policies for county residents will continue to be implemented."
Muan County is making every effort to improve mobility convenience for transportation-vulnerable people through the 24-hour immediate call service, significantly enhancing accessibility to adjacent areas for users, resolving residents' inconveniences, and ensuring the stable operation of the call taxi service for transportation-vulnerable people.
