Geochang County Council Member Pyo Joo-sook Receives 'Local Legislative Service Award'
Recognized for Contributing to Community Development through Active Legislative Activities

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Pyo Ju-sook, a member of the Geochang County Council in Gyeongnam, received the Local Legislative Service Award from the National Association of Chairpersons of City, County, and District Councils after concluding the 259th extraordinary session on the 9th.
The Local Legislative Service Award is given by the National Association of Heads of Cities, Counties, and Districts to council members who have dedicated themselves to regional development through active legislative activities. Pyo Ju-sook was selected as the award recipient for her contributions to the development of local legislation.
Councilor Pyo, who served as a member of the 7th and 8th Geochang County Council, accumulated outstanding legislative achievements through 12 five-minute free speeches, 10 ordinance proposals, inquiries into county administration, and active policy suggestions.
She has also been praised for her proactive attitude, always taking a humble approach to closely monitor public welfare, visiting sites to identify issues even for minor complaints, and proposing solutions.
In particular, Councilor Pyo showed great interest in transportation, housing, and women's issues, leading the representative proposals of ordinances such as the "Geochang County Ordinance on Operation and Resident Support for Burumi Taxi in Non-Operating Rural Bus Areas," the "Geochang County Ordinance on Vacant House Maintenance," and the "Geochang County Ordinance on Fostering and Supporting Women Farmers," significantly contributing to the enhancement of rights for marginalized groups and the improvement of residents' convenience.
