Assemblyman Kim Gyoheung, Incheon-daero Underground Project Passes Ministry of Land Investment Review
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Kim Gyoheung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Incheon Seo-gu Gap), announced on the 9th that the Incheon-daero (Gongdan Overpass~Seo Incheon IC) congestion road improvement project has passed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's investment review committee.
The underground construction of Incheon-daero is a project to build a four-lane underground road over a 4.5 km section from Seo Incheon IC to Gongdan Overpass to alleviate traffic congestion.
Out of the total project cost of 597.2 billion KRW, 50% of the design and construction costs will be supported by national funds. This was reflected in the '4th Metropolitan Area Traffic Congestion Road Improvement Project' in July, and has now passed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's investment review.
Once it passes the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's fiscal project evaluation committee review, the preliminary feasibility study will proceed in earnest.
Kim's office explained that it is the first time that a large-scale project with a total cost reaching 600 billion KRW has been included as a traffic congestion road improvement project for Incheon-daero.
