Young adults aged 19-39 living in Seoul, including entry-level workers, can apply through the 'Seoul Cheongnyeon Portal'
One-on-one personalized consultations on finance, spending management, real estate, and leases via video or phone
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 9th that it will start accepting applications for the non-face-to-face consultation service 'Seoul Youngtech' to support the successful financial investment of young people from the 12th. Any young person aged 19 to 39 residing in Seoul, including those new to society and beginners in financial investment, can apply through the Seoul Youth Portal.
Seoul Youngtech is a project designed to help young people acquire proper financial investment knowledge and systematically build assets to achieve economic independence amid the financial investment boom. It provides free online and offline financial consultations and financial investment education to young residents of Seoul. It is one of Mayor Oh Se-hoon's representative projects supporting the economic independence of youth.
Youths who apply for consultation can receive one-on-one customized advice in various fields such as financial investment, money management, and debt management through their preferred method: video call, phone, or KakaoTalk. They can receive comprehensive financial consultations based on their assets, credit status, and financial goals, as well as guidance on managing consumption and expenditure through income and spending tendency analysis. They can also receive services such as real estate and lease consultations on the conditions required for jeonse loans and property purchases, methods to improve credit ratings, and market analysis of financial products. A consultation report will be provided via KakaoTalk within 24 hours after the consultation ends.
Regarding financial investment education, both online and offline courses will be offered. The courses will be available as open lectures on the ‘Seoul Youngtech’ section of the Seoul Youth Portal, allowing anyone to attend without a separate application process. The online lectures will cover basic financial topics such as ‘How to Read Insurance,’ ‘Credit Management,’ and ‘Investment Portfolio Learning through Cases,’ while also posting a series on recent issues related to virtual assets, including ‘Causes of the Virtual Asset Boom,’ ‘Trading and Nature of Virtual Assets,’ and ‘The Present and Future of Blockchain.’
For offline financial investment education, Seoul Youngtech talk shows with interactive communication will be held at least once a month. Each session will select timely topics and invite related financial experts or influencers in the economic and financial investment fields. Topics of interest to youth, such as virtual assets, reselling, and investment through the metaverse, will be selected based on demand surveys targeting young people, and prior announcements will be made on the Seoul Youth Portal before each talk show.
Inquiries about consultation applications are accepted via mobile, KakaoTalk, and a dedicated call center. To ensure systematic consultation management, all consultation applications are centralized through the Seoul Youth Portal. Young people in Seoul who wish to receive consultations can sign up as members of the Seoul Youth Portal, enter basic information and available consultation times on the Youngtech application page, and apply.
