Jinju-si Selected as '2021 Local Regulatory Innovation Excellence Institution'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju-si, Gyeongnam announced on the 8th that it was selected as an 'Excellent Institution for Local Regulatory Innovation in 2021' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The 'Local Regulatory Innovation Excellent Institution Certification System' is an evaluation system introduced in 2018 to enable local governments to self-assess and improve the overall level of regulatory innovation and strengthen their regulatory innovation capabilities.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety Certification Review Committee verifies the achievements through document review and on-site inspection of the regulatory reform work carried out by local governments over one year, and then grants the final excellent institution certification.
Jinju-si established a comprehensive regulatory innovation plan and received high evaluations across all regulatory reform tasks, including operating a visiting regulatory reporting center, discovering regulatory innovation tasks, and revising unreasonable autonomous regulations, earning the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s commendation and a financial incentive of 100 million won. It will maintain the excellent institution certification for regulatory innovation for the next three years.
