[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 8th, Park Wan-joo, the Policy Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea, said regarding the additional payment of disaster relief funds to all citizens, "If the additional tax revenue is approximately 10 to 15 trillion won, the amount possible for all citizens would be around 200,000 to 250,000 won."
On the same day, Park appeared on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' and said, "If an agreement is reached, we can consider that level."
Earlier, Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung mentioned on the 31st of last month regarding the scale of disaster relief funds for all citizens, "(Per person) at least 300,000 to 500,000 won should be provided."
Regarding the timing and method, Park said, "It is tight to include it in the third supplementary budget within this year, but we can consider options such as including it in the main budget or whether it is before or after the presidential election."
