Kim Jong-ho Appointed as New Chairman of Korea Technology Finance Corporation
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced on the 8th that Mr. Kim Jong-ho has been appointed as the new Chairman. The term of the new Chairman Kim Jong-ho is three years, until November 7, 2024.
The Chairman of Kibo is appointed according to the "Act on the Management of Public Institutions," where the Executive Recommendation Committee recommends candidates to the Minister of SMEs and Startups, the Minister selects the final candidate, and the President appoints them upon recommendation.
Born in 1962, the new Chairman Kim Jong-ho graduated from Busan Jungang High School, Seoul National University with a degree in Law, and Dankook University Graduate School of Public Administration. After passing the 37th Administrative Examination in 1993, he began his career as an officer at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and subsequently served as the Head of the 1st Division of the Financial and Economic Audit Bureau at the Board of Audit and Inspection, Director of the Education Audit Team, Director of the Public Institution Audit Bureau, Secretary-General, Secretary for Public Service Discipline at the Presidential Secretariat, and Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs.
During his 28 years of public service, Chairman Kim has held key positions in the Ministry of Culture, the Board of Audit and Inspection, and the Presidential Secretariat, gaining diverse and extensive experience in national affairs such as finance and economy, public institution management, and industrial and SME policies. He is recognized for actively communicating with the public and the civil service community based on his affability and balanced judgment, and for carrying out his duties rationally.
