View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Friday the 5th, the whole country will be mostly clear, and daytime temperatures will rise to around 20 degrees Celsius, resulting in a large temperature difference between day and night. Along with dense fog, fine dust levels will also soar to 'bad' levels in the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungcheong region.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that the country will be mostly clear on this day, with Jeju Island gradually becoming cloudy from the afternoon, and occasional clouds in the southern regions.
Morning temperatures will be between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperatures will be around 20 degrees Celsius. This large temperature difference of about 15 degrees between day and night will continue until the day after tomorrow.
In northern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, eastern Jeolla, and inland Gyeongsang, frost may occur, so caution is needed to prevent cold damage to crops.
Fine dust levels on this day will be 'bad' in the Seoul metropolitan area, North Chungcheong, and South Chungcheong, while other regions will have 'moderate' levels. However, Gangwon Yeongseo, Daejeon, Sejong, Gwangju, North Jeolla, and Daegu will experience 'bad' levels in the morning. The central-western region has high fine dust concentrations due to residual dust from the previous day and accumulation of domestically generated fine dust.
There will be many places with dense fog reducing visibility to less than 200 meters in the central region, Jeolla area, and inland Gyeongsang. As of 6 a.m., visibility at major points is 40m in Boeun, 40m in Jincheon, 60m in Yangju, 60m in Sejong Goun, 60m in Sangdang (Cheongju), 70m in Cheonan, 80m in Icheon, and 90m in Pocheon.
Low visibility warnings are in effect at Incheon, Gimpo, Cheongju, and Gwangju airports. Due to dense fog, there may be disruptions in flight operations, so air travelers should check flight information in advance.
The Korea Meteorological Administration urged, "On roads and bridges (such as Seohae Bridge, Yeongjong Bridge, Ganghwa Bridge) near rivers, lakes, valleys, and coastal areas, visibility may become very short. When driving, maintain sufficient distance between vehicles and reduce speed to prevent traffic accidents such as collisions. Please pay special attention to traffic safety."
