Seogwipo Coast Guard Rescues Two Anglers Trapped on Rocky Shore
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Two anglers who were stranded by the rising tide while fishing on the rocky shore near Daepo-dong, Seogwipo City, were urgently rescued by the Seogwipo Coast Guard.
According to the Seogwipo Maritime Police Station on the 4th, a report was received that two men (in their 20s and 30s, residents of Jeju) fishing on the rocky shore near Jungmun Complex Soccer Field were stranded due to misjudging the tide at around 5:36 PM the previous day.
The Seogwipo Coast Guard dispatched rescue teams and police substations to the scene and safely rescued both individuals using rescue surfboards at around 6:22 PM.
The rescued individuals were wearing life jackets while fishing, and their health condition was confirmed to be good.
A Seogwipo Coast Guard official said, “When fishing on rocky shores, for safety, please be sure to check the tide schedule and wear life jackets.”
