Muan-gun Selects 96 Seungdal Scholarship Students for Second Half of the Year
39 High School Students and 57 University Students Finally Selected... Scholarship Funds of Over 86 Million Won Awarded

View original image[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Muan-gun Seungdal Scholarship Foundation held a board meeting on the 29th of last month and finally selected 96 Seungdal scholarship students for the second half of the year, awarding scholarships totaling about 86 million won.
A total of 239 students applied for the second half Seungdal scholarship selection, showing an average competition rate of 2.5:1. Based on combined scores of academic performance and lifestyle, 39 high school students and 57 university students were finally selected in order of highest scores.
The 96 final selectees will receive scholarships of 500,000 won for high school students and 1,500,000 won for university students respectively. For those who have received other scholarships, the amount will be deducted within the range of actual payment.
Governor Kim San said, “Unlike other cities and counties in the province where the school-age population is decreasing, Muan continues to see an increase in students, and parents’ interest in education is also very high. We will make greater efforts to expand scholarship projects to discover and nurture local talents in the future.”
Meanwhile, the Muan-gun Seungdal Scholarship Foundation, established in 1994, selects scholarship students twice a year in the first and second halves and provides scholarships. To date, about 2,800 people have benefited.
