'Bohae Soju' Featured in Korea Tourism Organization's Mokpo Promotional Content
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Bohae Brewery’s Ipsaeju has appeared in the YouTube content ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea,’ created by the Korea Tourism Organization to promote Korea to the world, drawing attention.
The ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea-MOKPO’ video, released by the Korea Tourism Organization on the 4th, is 1 minute and 50 seconds long and begins with scenes of the early morning auction market at the Mokpo pier.
Set to the background of the folk song Pungnyeonga, the video sensually depicts the intense auction battle over fish with urgent music. It then shows the harbor street food stalls held at Samhakdo in Mokpo.
The video features various tourists enjoying Ipsaeju along with abundant side dishes such as fresh seafood that can be found in Mokpo.
At 1 minute and 28 seconds, near the end of the video, 15-year aged Maechwisun, which pairs well with sashimi along with Ipsaeju, appears, showcasing various products of Bohae Brewery. In this way, the video contains content representing Mokpo’s keywords: harbor and food.
The Korea Tourism Organization, which produced this video, requested production cooperation from Bohae Brewery, a company representing the region, to capture Mokpo’s diverse culture and food. Bohae supported the products to cooperate with content promoting the region to the world.
The YouTube channel ‘Imagine your korea,’ operated by the Korea Tourism Organization, currently has 470,000 subscribers as of November, and the ‘Seoul edition’ released in July 2020 has recorded a cumulative 47.98 million views, gaining great popularity worldwide beyond Korea.
A Bohae Brewery official said, “We are very honored that Bohae Brewery can participate in the ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea’ series, which is loved not only in Korea but also by people around the world,” and added, “We hope COVID-19 disappears soon so that more tourists can enjoy Bohae Brewery products in Mokpo.”
