"Donate via QR Check-in" LG Uplus Donates PASS App Points
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 4th that it will conduct a donation program using the integrated simple identity verification service app for mobile carriers called 'PASS'.
This program is a social contribution activity in which U+ mobile subscribers accumulate donations of 10 won per QR check-in when entering restaurants or cafes using the PASS app, donating a total of 20 million won. The event ends when the donation accumulation reaches 20 million won. The donation program runs until the 3rd of next month, and the donations will be delivered to small business owners or families struggling due to COVID-19.
Since last year, LG Uplus has been collaborating with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency to provide a QR code-based electronic entry log service through the PASS app.
With the nationwide phased recovery to daily life under 'With COVID-19' starting this month, LG Uplus expects an increase in outdoor activities by the public and planned this program to promote adherence to quarantine rules and spread a culture of sharing through QR check-ins.
In line with the youth vaccination season, LG Uplus will hold a lottery for 1,000 youths aged 14 to 19 who participate in this program, providing them with 1GB data gift certificates. Entry is automatic upon QR check-in via the PASS app.
