Samsung Eases Quarantine Guidelines with 'With Corona'... Increases Meeting Capacity and Allows Company Dinners
Samsung Electronics to Apply Revised Guidelines Starting from the 8th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] In line with the government's phased daily recovery plan, 'With Corona,' Samsung affiliates have decided to ease internal quarantine guidelines.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 3rd that it will adjust its internal quarantine measures. According to this, the number of attendees allowed for face-to-face meetings and face-to-face training, which were previously limited to 10 and 20 people respectively, will be expanded to 20 and 50 people. Additionally, company dinners will be permitted in accordance with government quarantine guidelines. The operation of in-house welfare facilities has also resumed. For fitness centers, operations will be maintained at about 30% of the previous capacity, and outdoor rest areas and outdoor sports facilities will also be reopened. However, eating and drinking are prohibited, and social distancing must be observed. Samsung Electronics plans to implement these quarantine measures starting from the 8th.
Samsung Display also announced new quarantine guidelines to be applied from the 4th. The allowed number of attendees for face-to-face meetings and training will be eased similarly to Samsung Electronics. Internal events, which were previously completely banned, will now be allowed for up to 99 people, and internal and external gatherings such as company dinners will be permitted for up to 10 people. The use of indoor and outdoor lounges, which had been suspended since the COVID-19 outbreak, will also resume. However, detailed operational plans regarding in-house fitness centers and club activities will be reviewed and further guidance will be provided.
Earlier, from the 1st, as South Korea's COVID-19 quarantine system shifted to 'With Corona,' a phased daily recovery, companies began steps to normalize work. LG Group relaxed the work-from-home ratio to about 30% for major affiliates starting on the first day of With Corona and applied internal quarantine guidelines that eased the standards for face-to-face meetings, group training, and event attendance. Regardless of vaccination status, meetings are allowed for up to 20 people, group training up to 30 people, and events up to 50 people. Facilities such as gyms and cafes within the company will also operate normally.

Doosan Group decided that employees who have completed COVID-19 vaccination will, in principle, work on-site. While non-face-to-face meetings were mainly held during the COVID-19 period, face-to-face meetings are now permitted, and domestic and overseas business trips have been allowed. Previously, business trips to domestic areas at level 2 or higher or to high-risk overseas countries required approval. With this new measure, internal training and events with fewer than 50 people are now possible.
