Korea Photonics Industry Promotion Association Hosts International Photonics Convergence Industry Exhibition and Conference
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Korea Photonics Industry Promotion Association will hold the ‘2021 International Photonics Convergence Industry Exhibition and Conference’ over two days on the 24th and 25th at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center.
In particular, this exhibition will be conducted as a hybrid exhibition in preparation for the with-COVID-19 era.
In advance, to practically expand export performance and reflect voices from the field, since last year, the association has established and operated a comprehensive non-face-to-face online consultation situation room to match overseas buyers with purchasing power and continuously support online consultations.
During the exhibition period, to expand overseas export channels for domestic photonics convergence companies, 200 overseas buyers from about 20 countries including the Americas, Europe, and Asia, who have actual purchasing power, will be invited to conduct customized one-on-one on-site export consultations and online export consultations.
Companies can receive differential support for round-trip international airfare for overseas buyer invitation expenses: 80% for contract conclusion, 70% for agreement conclusion, and 50% for export consultations, along with full support for two days of accommodation.
Additionally, various side events such as the 11th Photomedical Symposium and the 2nd Tech Day of the 2021 ETRI Honam Research Center will be held concurrently to discover new business directions through the exchange of new technology information in the photonics convergence field and to explore technology transfer and commercialization plans.
Visitors will be able to directly experience photonics medical products, which are emerging with the 4th Industrial Revolution, at the Photonics Medical Bio Experience Center, providing an opportunity to feel the changes in the photonics convergence industry era including AI, attracting the attention of attendees.
In the optical communication field, technologies that protect optical cable connection points and optical fiber splicing points from external environments through various connection methods will be showcased, and in the photonics convergence lighting field, ultra-energy-saving lighting technology that can variably respond to ambient illumination used indoors and outdoors will be developed.
In the photomedical bio field, skin improvement and anti-aging solution technologies using LED light sources will be presented, and in the optical materials and components field, technologies featuring simple structure, ultra-lightweight, ultra-compact, low noise, and low power consumption will be exhibited.
Especially at this exhibition, the ‘Casper’ vehicle will be displayed. Photonics convergence technology is applied not only to existing optical communication and LED lighting but also to automotive headlights, interior lights, infotainment, and front and rear sensing centers, and these technologies can be glimpsed through the ‘Casper’. The ‘Casper’ is a compact SUV produced by Gwangju Global Motors (GGM), where the Gwangju-type job model was first applied under consignment from Hyundai Motor Company.
In line with the COVID-19 era, for overseas buyers and general consumers who cannot attend the exhibition in person, real-time online product promotion through YouTube (B2B) and real-time Naver live commerce (B2C) online sales support will be provided for companies selling finished products online.
Cho Yong-jin, Executive Vice President of the Korea Photonics Industry Promotion Association, stated, “This exhibition will showcase new technologies and excellent products of the photonics convergence industry in the 4th Industrial Revolution era. With 200 overseas buyers from 20 countries consulting with domestic companies both online and offline, it will open a global marketing venue, enabling the photonics convergence industry to leap forward as a national core industry and providing companies with an opportunity to step into the global market.”
