Gwangju Nam-gu Vaccination Center to Start 'Booster Shot' Inoculations from the 15th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Byung-nae) announced that from the 15th to the 30th, booster shot vaccinations will be administered to residents aged 75 and older at the Nam-gu Vaccination Center.
Additionally, hundreds of employees working at the district office will be deployed to conduct one-on-one monitoring, guiding 13,008 seniors aged 75 and older who have completed their primary vaccinations about the additional vaccination. They will also provide information on how to make advance reservations to seniors who have not yet been vaccinated, encouraging them to receive the vaccine.
According to Nam-gu, starting from the 15th, vaccinations will be administered at the Nam-gu Vaccination Center in Jinwol-dong to 1,945 seniors aged 75 and older who have completed their first and second doses and have applied for the additional vaccination.
Other seniors are receiving their booster shots at private medical institutions near their homes.
Accordingly, considering that the seniors receiving additional vaccinations at the vaccination center are elderly, have mobility difficulties, and lack individual transportation, Nam-gu has arranged rental buses at the 17 administrative welfare centers in the district to provide convenience for vaccination.
The rental buses will operate up to four times a day from the 15th to the 30th.
In addition, Nam-gu will conduct one-on-one telephone monitoring for three days starting from the day of vaccination to check the health status of seniors receiving booster shots at the vaccination center.
Furthermore, from the 1st to the 5th, a focused period for booster shot vaccinations and vaccine guidance has been set. A total of 322 employees from 20 departments within the district office have been deployed to call 13,008 seniors who have completed vaccination as well as those who have not, encouraging them to receive booster shots and vaccinations.
A Nam-gu official stated, “With the start of 'With Corona' for phased daily recovery and to actively respond to the spread of the Delta variant, we are making our best efforts. We earnestly ask for active participation in booster shots and vaccinations for the safety of the entire local community.”
