17 New COVID-19 Cases Including Middle School Students Confirmed in Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Seventeen new COVID-19 cases, including middle school students, have been confirmed in the Gwangju area.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 2nd, a total of 17 cases were reported in one day, including 14 local infections and 3 imported cases.
They were classified as numbers 5377 to 5393.
Regarding the middle school located in Seo-gu, after the index patient 5380 was first confirmed, the virus spread to surrounding students, resulting in a total of 7 cases.
Among the confirmed cases related to this school, 5393's older brother, 5391, was additionally infected through family contact.
Four cases were related to the administrative order for employment agencies.
Two cases were related to other cities and provinces such as Bucheon in Gyeonggi-do and Daejeon Metropolitan City.
There were also two imported cases: 5383 was confirmed positive during a pre-release test in Uzbekistan, and 5387 was confirmed after testing upon entry into Korea from the United States.
