[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] Comedian Lee Seyoung revealed an anecdote about unfair treatment she experienced from an actress during her time working as a reporter for entertainment programs.
On the 30th, Lee Seyoung posted a video titled "The Actress Who Spat Gum in My Hand" on her YouTube channel 'Youngpyeong TV.' In the video, Lee said, "Today, I want to talk about my time as a reporter," and added, "There is something I still can't forget."
Lee Seyoung said, "During the nearly two to three years I worked as a reporter, there were celebrities who were polite and kind, but there were also some who made me wonder, 'Is this really okay?' as a person." She explained, "When I was 21, I took the subway and arrived at an interview location two hours away, then waited. I was told the interview would last about 30 minutes, so I received the script the day before and prepared."
She continued, "Suddenly, the manager came and said that Mr. A, the interviewee, was not feeling well and that the interview would have to be only 10 minutes." She added, "After consulting with the PD, we shortened the questions to fit the 10-minute slot." She also shared, "Even as a rookie, I felt that nothing from the interview could be aired. Suddenly, I felt so upset that I cried," and "I apologized to the PD, who said that the celebrity usually doesn't talk much and feels awkward during interviews, so it was okay," revealing her feelings.
Lee Seyoung also explained that she met Mr. A again at a movie interview site some time after an interview at a photo shoot location. She said, "It wasn't a solo interview; other actors were present," and "When I greeted before the interview, that person saw me but ignored me."
Lee said, "When it was my turn to start the interview, that person was chewing gum. I don't think they did that in other interviews," and "Since they kept chewing gum, another actor, unable to bear it, asked if they shouldn't spit it out during the interview." She added, "Determined to do well in this interview, I went up to them and (spreading both hands) asked them to spit it here," and "There was no time to get a tissue, and I wanted to create a good atmosphere," showing her open palms.
