On the 30th (Korean time), at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda (par 71, 6,828 yards), continuing the second day of the 6th event of the 2021/2022 PGA Tour season, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (total prize money $6.5 million), Bae added 2 under par to reach a tie for 46th place (2 under par 140) and advanced to the third round. Taylor Pendrith (Canada) leads with 11 under par 131, Patrick Rodgers is second with 10 under par 132, and Vincent Whaley (both from the United States) is in third place with 9 under par 133.
Bae started tied for 34th place, 6 strokes behind the leader, recording 5 birdies and 3 bogeys. After exchanging 3 birdies and 3 bogeys over 16 holes without much reduction in strokes, he made back-to-back birdies on the 17th hole (par 5) and the final 18th hole (par 4) to secure his place in the next round. He relied on a fairway hit rate of 71.43% and a green in regulation rate of 66.67%. Since finishing 69th at the Barracuda Championship last August, he was able to earn prize money in his first event of the new season.

Danny Lee (New Zealand) is 4 strokes behind in 4th place (8 under par 134), and Patrick Reed (United States), ranked 24th in the world, is tied for 17th place (5 under par 137) and is in pursuit. Defending champion Brian Gay (United States) barely made the cut, tied for 63rd place (even par 142). No Seung-yeol (30, Jivent) is also in this group.
